PlantRX ("we", "our", "the app") is developed by Futuron Inc. This policy explains how we handle your data.
Data We Collect
PlantRX collects minimal data:
- Photos: When you scan a plant, your photo is sent to Google's Gemini AI API for identification or diagnosis. Photos are transmitted securely via HTTPS and are not stored on our servers.
- Plant collection: Your saved plants, care schedules, and scan history are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- Preferences: Settings like pet ownership and notification preferences are stored locally on your device.
Third-Party AI Services
PlantRX uses Google's Gemini AI to analyze plant photos. When you use the scan or diagnose features:
- Your photo is sent to Google's Gemini API via our secure proxy server
- Google processes the image to identify the plant or diagnose issues
- Google's use of this data is governed by their Generative AI Terms
- We do not store your photos on any server
Google maintains equal or greater data protection standards for AI-processed data.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- No personal information (name, email, phone)
- No location data
- No analytics or tracking
- No account registration required
Subscriptions
Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.
Children's Privacy
PlantRX does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
